Subject: The real Joe Biden
From an accountant who has done work for Biden.
Family, I feel an obligation to honesty and truth to share with you some facts. My Father and Mother instilled in me the values and morals of treating people fairly and always being honest. If you purchase something, you pay for it. If you borrow something, you give it back.
I have been "stiffed" three times in my 30 year professional career by someone who I rendered services to, gave a finished product to, but who refused to pay for those services even though they acknowledged the services and products were correct, were what they asked for, and were never challenged for not being correct. I am lucky in having only three, but those three hurt badly.
Joe Biden was one of those people. I worked on his 1988 Presidential campaign financial disclosure engagement. I busted it for him and got everything right. He stiffed me for over $15,000 worth of work. He refused to pay once he dropped out of the race. I did similar Capitol Hill campaign financial disclosure work for Bob Dole, Pat Buchanan, and a Democratic candidate for Ambassador to New Zealand. All of those folks paid even though they lost the election or did not get the appointment. That type of work is very demanding and very tedious because your efforts are scrutinized by Congress. Biden did not care.
I am on the Board of Directors of a company that owns a majority position in a private jet management company in Northern Virginia. They manage jets for businesses and rich folks. They also charter planes to the public. This past winter John Thompson chartered over $250,000 worth of air time. He paid every penny.
Joe Biden, in his latest unsuccessful run for President, chartered over $150,000 worth of air time. He PAID ZERO.
He continues to refuse to pay stating his race is over and he is out of money. He never once complained about his flights. Joe Biden is a rich man. He could pay.
Joe Biden is a liar and a cheat. I know it first hand.
Character is what life is all about. Joe Biden is a man of bad character and sets a bad example for America.
I feel compelled to share this dark side of a man who asks for your vote and trust.

Obama: By Bill Brown
Obama: By Bill Brown of the Billy Graham Team
Bill Brown, is a highly respected retired member of the Billy Graham team so, I take his assessment of Obama very seriously and for that reason accept his challenge to pass this on. I share his concern about the 'rock star' image Obama has and watch with growing concern at the celebrity status the media has foisted upon him. Here is hope this email informs you in a wise way. BW

The Obama Tidal=2 0Wave
We are witnessing a political phenomenon with Barack Obama of rare magnitude.
His speeches have inspired millions and yet most of his followers have no idea of what he stands for except platitudes of 'Change' or that he says he will be a 'Uniter'.
The power of speech from a charismatic person truly can be a powerful thing. Certainly Billy Graham had charisma. Both his manner of speech and particularly the content changed millions.
On the extreme other hand, the charisma of Adolph Hitler, too, inspired millions and the results were catastrophic.
Barack Obama certainly is no Hitler or a Billy Graham, but for many Americans riding on the Obama Tidal Wave it is just like a surfer who might be ecstatic and euphoric while riding a tidal wave, but the reality of the ride is what happens when it hits shore.
Just Some of What Defines Barack Obama:
· He voted for partial birth abortion.
· He voted no on notifying parents of minors who get out-of-state abortions.
; · Supports affirmative action in Colleges and Government (quotas)..
· In 2001 he questioned harsh penalties for drug dealing as being too severe.
· Says he will deal with street level drug dealing as minimum wage affair.
· Admitted his use of marijuana and cocaine in high school and in college.
· His religious convictions are very murky.
· He is willing to meet with Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, Kim Jung Il and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
· Has said that one of his first goals after being elected would be to have a conference with all Muslim Nations
· Opposed the Patriot Act.
· First bill he signed that was ever passed was campaign finance reform.
· Voted to allow law suits against gun manufacturers.
· Supports universal health-care.
· Voted yes on providing habeas corpus for Guantanamo detainees.
· Supports granting driver's licenses to illegal immigrants.
· Supports extending welfare to illegal immigrants.
· Voted yes on comprehensive immigration reform.
· Voted yes on allowing illegal aliens to participate in Social Security.
· Wants to make the minimum wage a 'living wage'.
· Voted with Democratic Party 96 percent of 251 votes. (241 votes Demo, 10 votes Republican)
· Is a big believer in the separation of church and state.< br> · Opposed to any efforts to Privatize Social Security and instead supports
increasing the amount of tax paid into Soc. Sec. Tax Increase.
· He voted No on repealing the Alternative Minimum Tax which now hits middle income brackets.
· He voted No on repealing the 'Death' Tax. Tax Increase.
· He wants to raise the Capital Gains Tax. Tax Increase.
· Has repeatedly said the surge in Iraq has not succeeded...which is not true.
· He is ranked as the most liberal Senator in the Senate today and that takes some doing.
If your political choices are consistent with Barack Obama's and you think that his positions will bring America together or make it a better place, then you will probably enjoy the ride and not forward this Email. If you are like most Americans that after examining what he stands for, are truly not in line with his record, it would be prudent to get off the wave or better yet, never get on, before it comes on shore and undermines the very foundations of this great Country. We have limited time to save America or the Supreme Court as we know it.
Inaction is action.
If you agree this is important, pass it on. The mainstream media will not do it for you!

Support for Israel has never ranked high on the United Nations’ agenda. And the upcoming World Conference Against Racism, scheduled for early 2009 in Geneva, Switzerland, presents a valid case. Many observers are concerned that the UN-sponsored event will simply serve as yet another a platform to launch attacks against Israel -- as the previous world anti-racism conference did in Durban, South Africa, seven years ago.
Even by the standards of the organization’s traditional antagonism toward the Jewish State, the U.N.’s 2001 Durban gathering marked a low point. To the extent that “racism” was discussed, it was only to condemn Israeli policies. Little wonder that the conference, known as “ Durban I,” is largely remembered as a U.N.-backed assault on Israel.
Now it’s back. And if early evidence is any guide, Durban II, as the Geneva event is already being called, will be a replay of its predecessor. Consider that the chair of the conference’s planning committee is Libya, whose longtime leader, Muammar Gadhafi, has recently claimed that the Israeli Mossad aims to assassinate Barack Obama. The vice chair of the conference, meanwhile, is communist Cuba. And the fact that Iran's president has notoriously called for Israel’s destruction has not, expectedly, prevented it from playing a key leadership role in the upcoming conference.
Nor does it bode well for Durban II that its agenda will be set by the 56-member Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC). In particular, the conference will consider responses to “Islamophobia.” In this connection, the OIC’s members will consider what they regard as the problematic Western right to free speech. Referring to the cartoons of the prophet Mohammed published in Danish newspaper Jyllands Posten and to “Fitna,” Dutch politician Geert Wilders’s documentary about Islam, OIC Secretary General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu recently promised to send “a clear message to the West regarding the red lines that should not be crossed.” He went on to warn Western countries to “look seriously into the question of freedom of expression.”
For their part, Western countries should make clear that they will not allow the OIC to dictate what can and cannot be said about Islam. Instead, they should shift the focus onto the OIC. Instead of concerning themselves with alleged Western prejudices, Islamic states would do well to ponder the rampant racism in the Muslim World. Darfur, where an estimated 300,000 Muslims have been killed by their fellow Muslims, prompting the United Nations to call it the worst human rights disaster in the world, would be a logical starting point. From there, the OIC might consider the continued bloodshed between Shiites and Sunnis, and the fanatical suicide bombers who have claimed the lives of thousands of their co-religionists. One need hardly look to the West to find “Islamophobia” in action.
As for “racism,” the conference’s nominal subject, it is worth bearing in mind that slavery - the most racist of practices - endures in the Islamic world even as it has been abolished in the West. In OIC member states like Sudan and Mauritania, Arabs still keep black African slaves. Sudan 's president, Omar al-Bashir, who was indicted by the World Court for human rights abuses in Darfur, is reputed to have black slaves in his own house. According to NGO reports, some 200,000 southern Sudanese have been enslaved during Bashir’s reign, a practice that the UN has charged is “deeply rooted in Arab and Muslim supremacism.” (Such grim statistics did not deter the Sudanese Minister of Justice from demanding, in a stunning act of hypocrisy, reparations for historical slavery during Durban I.) And while Mauritania legally abolished slavery in 1980, it is still practiced secretly. Even Muslims in the West have not accepted its ban on slavery. For example, four Arab princesses were found in July living in Brussels with 17 slaves.
The persistence of slavery in the Muslim world is not, of course, surprising. In August 1990, the Cairo Declaration of Human Rights was affirmed by the 57 member states of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC). It stated that Islamic Sharia law is the sole source of the Islamic perspective on human rights. And slavery is codified in Sharia law. It is doubtful, naturally, that this detail will be much discussed during Durban II.
In light of recent history, it makes sense that Israel has decided to boycott next year’s conference. Canada has also decided to boycott Durban II, and other Western countries should consider following the Canadian example. It’s the height of absurdity for free nations to have to endure lectures on human rights from its preeminent abusers. In 2001, they could have claimed to be unaware of the conference’s sinister agenda. Seven years later, ignorance is no longer an excuse or an option.

Obama’s Tax Plan Based on ‘Neighborliness’
Obama’s Tax Plan Based on ‘Neighborliness’

Sen. Barack Obama speaks at a rally in Dublin, Ohio on Aug. 30, 2008. (AP File Photo/Alex Brandon)(CNSNews.com) - We can afford to pay higher taxes. They can’t. That’s the gist of Sen. Barack Obama’s tax plan, which he discussed with Fox New Channel’s Bill O’Reilly in an interview that aired Monday night.
Obama has campaigned on a promise to reverse the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans, while protecting tax cuts for poor and middle class families. He favors a return to the 39 percent income tax bracket for the highest earners -- including himself and O’Reilly, he said.
“You can afford that. That’s point number one,” Obama told O’Reilly. In exchange, Obama said he would cut taxes for 95 percent of Americans.
“If I am sitting pretty, and you’ve got a waitress who is making minimum wage plus tips, and I can afford it and she can’t -- what’s the big deal for me to say, ‘I’m going to pay a little bit more.’ That is neighborliness,” Obama said.
‘Robin Hood Obama’
“You’re a big ‘tax the rich’ guy,” O’Reilly told the Democratic presidential candidate.
O’Reilly called the senator “Robin Hood Obama,” and reminded him that taking money away from high-earners and giving it to low earners is income redistribution. “It’s a socialist tenet,” O’Reilly said.
Even President Teddy Roosevelt supported a progressive income tax, Obama responded. (“Not at the level you do,” O’Reilly retorted.)
“I don’t like paying taxes. What, you think I like writing a check?” Obama said.
“What I believe is, is that there are certain things we have to do. We’ve got to help people who are having tough times affording college, so they can benefit like we benefited from this great country. People who are having a tough time -- they don’t have health care; people who are trying to figure out how they are going to pay the bills…”
Obama also mentioned the nation’s crumbling infrastructure. “At a certain point, we have to pay for it,” he said.
In his interview with O’Reilly, Obama did not say where he would cap payroll taxes. (His Web site says he would ask people earning over $250,000 to contribute “a bit more” -- 2 to 4 percent more, he says -- to Social Security to keep it sound.)
Obama told O’Reilly he does not plan to raise corporate taxes. And he agreed that a “prohibitive” capital gains tax rate would inhibit investment. He mentioned raising the capital gains tax rate to 20 percent.
According to his campaign Web site, “Obama will create a new ‘Making Work Pay’ tax credit of up to $500 per person, or $1,000 per working family. The ‘Making Work Pay’ tax credit will completely eliminate income taxes for 10 million Americans.”
He also promises to eliminate income taxes for seniors making less than $50,000. He is pushing a $4,000 annual tuition tax credit for college students. And he says he will “dramatically simplify” tax filings so that millions of middle class Americans will be able to do their taxes in less than five minutes.

Barack Obama is an out-and-out Marxist. My money represents my liberty, and whenever anyone messes with my money, they are messing with my liberty. In addition to Obama's ideology, he is a puppet of those who would want to completely command and control every aspect of our lives. This will hopefully be revealed clearly as the next few weeks of this campaign period unfolds.

The idea of neighborliness would necessarily assume a voluntary transfer of goods, services, money, etc. from one neighbor to another. I doubt very seriously if Mr. Obama and the IRS would agree to voluntary participation in his "neighborly" redistribution of wealth. Sounds much more like strongarm socialism.

I encourage everyone to watch the actual interview with O'Reilly: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=crvINqq5izM When Ms. Jones say "we can afford higher taxes, they can't" you should understand who "we" are. If you look at a statistical breakdown of Obama's and McCain's tax plans Obama cuts your taxes unless you earn more than $603,000 annually. So don't include "me" in that "we." I do think it's important to ask Michael Moore's question: Are we going to live in a "me" society or a "we" society. I think helping make sure kids can go to college is a pretty darned good thing. It will make our country better and benefit everyone in ways we can only begin to imagine. Providing health care for all will reduce our own insurance costs because we already pay for poor people's hospital visits through our taxes. Preventative care is cheaper than emergency care. It's much cheaper than the Iraq debacle, and we seem to find plenty of money for that.
kbjb028 at 01:49 PM - September 09, 2008
And now Obama wants the government to regulate how I behave towards my neighbors. His campaign slogan should be "Hi, I'm from the government and I am here to help you". That's always been a line that makes me shudder.

When will someone mention that taking care of the waitress is her, her family or her community's concern. If I give her a dollar, she'll have a dollar. If I give a reputable charity a dollar for her, she'll get 75-95 cents of that dollar. If I give the government a dollar to give to her, she'll get what is now...38 cents? The only reason to establish these programs is to swell a voting base for socialists.

It's much cheaper than the Iraq debacle, and we seem to find plenty of money for that.

After selecting Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin as his running mate, Sen. John McCain has soared in the polls -- taking a 10-point lead over Sen. Barack Obama in the Gallup daily tracking poll among likely voters.
The development has shaken many in the major media who are strongly backing Obama, a Democrat. His allies have now launched an all-out offensive against the first GOP female vice presidential candidate.
Worrisome for the Obama camp is the momentous effect Palin has had on women. Before her selection, Obama led McCain among white women, 55 percent to 37 percent.
The most recent poll data out last week shows 53 percent to 41 percent in favor of McCain. ABC News called it "one of the single biggest post-convention changes in voter preference.''
"She's not part of the Washington, D.C., cocktail circuit," Steve Schmidt, a McCain adviser, told Time magazine.
"Elite opinion looks down with contempt at people who are not part of their world," he said.
Palin has become a juggernaut. The Obama campaign wants her stopped, and the media -- which has given Obama almost a free pass in vetting him -- is giving Palin a vigorous examination.
On Monday, the Obama campaign released a new TV ad directly attacking Palin.
The ad states:
“They call themselves mavericks. Whoa. Truth is, they're anything but. John McCain is hardly a maverick, when seven of his top campaign advisers are Washington lobbyists. He's no maverick when he votes with Bush 90 percent of the time. And Sarah Palin's no maverick either. She was for the Bridge to Nowhere before she was against it. Politicians lying about their records? You don't call that maverick. You call it more of the same.”
Such political attacks have been backed up by vicious personal smears.
Comedian Bill Maher cracked a tasteless “joke” involving Palin’s Down syndrome child -- and referred to her as a “stewardess.” In the monologue of a recent HBO show, Maher noted that Palin has five children, including an infant “that has Down syndrome. She had it when she was 43 years old. And it looks a lot like John Edwards.”
Also notable was US Weekly magazine, whose cover story featured Palin and the headline “Babies, Lies & Scandal.”
Asked by Fox News Megyn Kelly to identify any “lies” Palin had uttered, US Weekly Senior Editor Bradley Jacobs could not offer any.
Just months ago, the same weekly had published Barack and Michelle Obama on the cover with the headline “Why Barack Loves Her.”
Meanwhile, the media has been elevating minor controversies in Palin’s home state of Alaska to national “scandals.” For example, the firing of a state trooper who allegedly Tasered his own 10-year-old son has been elevated to an international human-rights case.
The latest line of attack on Palin is focused on her strong Christian beliefs. She has been labeled a wacko fundamentalist who doesn’t believe in evolution. (Interestingly, several polls show most Americans don’t believe in it, either. A 2006 CBS poll found that just 13 percent of Americans believe in scientific evolution, and most Americans believe life was created and guided by God.)
A recent Associated Press investigative report was headlined: “Pentecostalism Obscured in Palin Biography.”
Her crime, according to the AP?
Here’s what AP wrote: “Sarah Palin often identifies herself simply as Christian. Yet John McCain's running mate has deep roots in Pentecostalism, a spirit-filled Christian tradition that is one of the fastest growing in the world. It's often derided by outsiders and Bible-believers alike.”
CNN on Monday was out with a similar “expose,” citing her former Alaskan pastor as saying Palin wanted to hide her Pentecostal roots.
Why? CNN claims she may be embarrassed that Pentecostals “speak in tongues.”
Though Palin has clearly demonstrated that her faith does not mix with her public service, it’s a major problem for the media.
It should be remembered that this is the same media that ignored Obama’s involvement with the Rev. Jeremiah Wright Jr. until video clips of his pastor condemning the United States made it onto YouTube. The media continues to largely ignore the fact Obama won’t admit he was raised a Muslim and later converted to Christianity.
The bias against Palin has become so apparent that even some in the major media are taking notice.
During the Republican National Convention last Wednesday, Palin mentioned how the media was covering her, and angry Republicans began screaming “NBC, NBC, NBC.”
NBC News, once considered the gold standard of broadcast news, has become so closely associated with the Obama campaign that it even replaced veteran news anchors for the two conventions with Democratic pundits Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews.
The network’s slanted coverage of the GOP became such an embarrassment that the network this past Sunday removed both Olbermann and Matthews as its election news anchors.
The pro-Obama bias has not only affected Palin and the GOP. During one Democrat debate earlier this year, Sen. Hillary Clinton referenced a “Saturday Night Live” sketch that showed CNN moderators bending over backwards to help Obama.
Hillary may have the last laugh as the Republicans, with Palin leading the charge, are stealing the women vote – a bloc Hillary solidly owned and one she could have brought home to the Democratic Party on Election Day.

Hillary Clinton: Palin's Pick 'Great Accomplishment'
Monday, September 8, 2008 5:30 PM
Anyone wanting a Hillary vs. Sarah smackdown might be in for a letdown. First, Sarah Palin launched her Republican vice presidential campaign with praise for the strides made by Hillary Rodham Clinton in her quest for the Democratic presidential nomination. On Monday, Clinton spoke in kind.
"It is a great accomplishment," Clinton said of Palin's selection as the GOP's first female running mate. Clinton told a rally of 500 that the election will be decided on issues, not the historical significance of the candidates, and Democrat Barack Obama and his running mate Joe Biden bring more to the table than the Republican ticket.
"Women as well as men make their decisions after they weigh the evidence," Clinton said. "As Americans go into that voting booth, what they have to ask themselves is not so much who am I for, as who is for me? And I don't think it's an even close question that we have the ticket that is going to do the best job in restoring the American promise."
About the most she'd say about Palin is that she and Republican presidential candidate John McCain "are not the change that we need."
Former Clinton adviser Howard Wolfson is dismissing any notion the Obama campaign would dispatch Clinton to take on Palin, as much as he thinks some people would revel in seeing the two strong women butt heads.
"Don't hold your breath," he wrote in his New Republic blog. "Clinton-Palin might drive ratings and sell magazines, but it wouldn't be good for the Democratic Party, or the cause of women's rights. Some might enjoy the spectacle, but don't expect Hillary Clinton to play along."
Clinton said: "I didn't run because I was a woman but I was very conscious of the fact that my campaign meant a lot to so many, and I appreciate that. But this election is about the two parties, and the two presidential nominees, where they stand, what they would do, what our country needs right now."
And she said the Democratic ticket is the one that "will fight to revitalize the economy and create jobs and make college affordable and enable hard-working Americans to be able to afford both a gallon of gas and a gallon of milk."
It was Clinton's second campaign swing through Florida since she conceded the Democratic primary to Obama. She told supporters that it will be a critical state in November, and one that has been harder hit than most by unemployment and home foreclosures.
She later addressed nearly 1,600 members of the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, which endorsed her last year. Clinton asked them to help Obama now.
So far polls have found few signs that women who backed Clinton in the primary would cross over to vote Republican in large numbers. Even so, Palin has been the talk of the presidential campaign for a week and the Obama campaign has seemed unsure what to do about her.
Now commenting from the sidelines, Wolfson said each day the Democrats focus on Palin is a day they are not driving home the message that McCain just represents four more years of President Bush.
He warned against giving in to "an obsession in our popular culture with the 'cat fight,' an offensive term that describes the spectacle of two well-known women fighting with one another."

Palin: Phantom Of The Oprah
Palin: Phantom Of The Oprah
By INVESTOR'S BUSINESS DAILY | Posted Monday, September 08, 2008 4:20 PM PT
Media Bias: Oprah Winfrey won't invite Sarah Palin on her show because she doesn't want to use it to promote any candidate. Yet she was willing to use the celebrity garnered from her show to promote Barack Obama.
This is the classic distinction without a difference. Oprah is one of those one-name celebrities. Her very mention of a book's title can make it a best-seller. When Oprah speaks, people listen.
People listened earlier this year when she bypassed Sen. Hillary Clinton to publicly embrace the presidential candidacy of Barack Obama, who had been on her show twice — in January 2005 and October 2006.
Oprah, right, Michelle and primary candidate Barack in New Hampshire in December. No room for Palin on this platform.
Oprah has influence, and she used that influence to help Obama. She said she endorsed him as an individual and not as a talk show host. She says when he was on her show he was not yet officially a candidate and that her policy is not to use her show to advance the cause of any candidate. Or is it just Republicans?
The endorsement of Oprah the beautician or Oprah the sales clerk at a department store cosmetics counter would have no impact. Using her celebrity as the No. 1 talk show host does. Obama doesn't have to appear on her show once she's publicly endorsed him.
A study by two University of Maryland professors found that Oprah's endorsement of Obama may have netted him 1 million votes in his primary run against Hillary Clinton. The Obama campaign said her rallies produced 10,000 new volunteers, 650 volunteers in critical New Hampshire alone.
Her decision to endorse Obama on "Larry King Live" on May 1, 2007, over Hillary did not come without a cost. An August 2007 CBS poll found her approval rating had dropped from 74% just seven months earlier to 61%. How many were Hillary supporters?
Maybe that's what she's afraid of. A too aggressive or patronizing Palin interview might turn off hockey and soccer moms everywhere. Palin's mere presence would remind Hillary voters of both her endorsement snub and Obama's veep selection snub.
Oprah's claim of fairness falls flat when you consider that, according to the Drudge Report, she blocked an appearance by Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas as part of his book tour promoting his autobiography.
Oprah Winfrey has an agenda, one that does not include giving any kind of national exposure to women and African-Americans who are Republican and conservative and articulate. These are species not supposed to exist and might shatter the liberal myth that Republican conservatives are misogynist racists.
Of her enthusiasm for The One, she says: "What I saw with Barack Obama was something that was transcendent, and I felt transformational for me as a human being and for this country. And I only pray in the deepest part of my being that America will rise to this moment. And I feel that what he was able to offer us as individual citizens and as a united country was something that we have never seen before. I really, I think it's the most powerful thing I've ever experienced."
Like most of the media and the entertainment industry, Oprah is in the tank for Obama. When Obama speaks, tingles run up and down the legs of MSNBC's Chris Matthews. When Obama gave his acceptance speech in Denver, Oprah said she "cried my eyelashes off." She probably would not have been surprised if he had fed the crowded stadium with five loaves and two fishes.
Oprah says that having the female governor of Alaska, the first female on a national GOP ticket, on a show with a largely female audience might influence the election she's already tried to influence.
We know the articulate and engaging Alaskan governor would win some new friends.
So how about having Gov. Sarah Palin on one show where she can talk about her smashing the political glass ceiling to become the ultimate working mom? Then have Sen. Joe Biden on the next day where he can explain to Oprah's audience why he thinks Sarah Palin is "good looking."

Reduced to Sputtering -- Media"
#1. "Why McCain Is Running Against the News Media"
Headline of story written by Peter A. Brown for this morning's Wall Street Journal.
# 2. "MSNBC is removing Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews as the anchors of live political events, bowing to growing criticism that they are too opinionated to be seen as neutral in the heat of the presidential campaign."
From "MSNBC Drops Olbermann, Matthews as News Anchors," written by the Washington Post's Howard Kurtz.
#3. Meet the Press host Tom Brokaw, asking pro-abortion Democratic vice presidential nominee Sen. Joseph Biden about the speech given last week by pro-life Republican vice presidential nominee, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin:
Brokaw: Who was the first person you called after the speech?
Biden: After my speech?
Brokaw: After her speech.
Biden: I didn't call anybody. I didn't--I happened to be--I didn't get her--I didn't see her speech, I saw part of it. I--we were, we were flying to--from Florida to Virginia, and I caught the tail end of it. And--oh, I guess I--actually, I called my wife. I called my wife.
And probably sobbed when he did. For someone, like me, who both scribbles for a livelihood and works for an organization routinely bashed by scribes of the "mainstream media," it doesn't get much better than watching them squirm.
With growing anger, Americans have watched the usual suspects work over pro-life Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. Brass knuckles, blackjacks, and assorted other weaponry have been the order of the day.
But a funny thing happened on the way to the Republican National Convention. Gov. Palin refused to buckle, refused to be intimidated, and refused to let the Keith Olbermanns, Chris Matthewes, and Andrea Mitchells get away with the vicious caricatures they drew of Palin and her entire family.
Her calm display of grace while under siege energized the convention and, for that matter, anyone and everyone who believes in fair play. The subsequent response to the joint appearances of pro-life Sen. John McCain and Gov. Palin--the numbers of people, the enthusiasm, and the instant bond--instantly brings to mind the response to pro-abortion Sen. Barack Obama during his heyday.
Three quick points.
First, Peter Brown is a fine analyst and an excellent writer. But there is a strong suggestion in his piece in today's Journal that the McCain campaign is inflating the media bias McCain and Palin have endured just to motivate the troops. I can only shake my head in disbelief. It's been a feeding frenzy like nothing I have ever seen.
As the story written by the Washington Post's Howard Kurtz illustrates, the worst offenders--MSNBC's Keith Olbermann and Chris Matthews--have been demoted, or transferred laterally, if you want to take the most benign view. While taking the anchor spots away from them for "live political events" is unmistakable evidence of their grotesque one-sidedness, it is also true that they will stay on as "commentators." My guess is that freed from even an afterthought of impartiality, they will be even more vicious than ever.
Second, a front page story in this morning's USA Today carries the headline "McCain, GOP get a bounce in poll." We learn in the second paragraph that McCain leads Obama 50% to 46% "among registered voters." He had "lagged by 7 percentage points" just before the Republican convention began last week. We also learn the "enthusiasm gap" has almost completely vanished.
Oh, by the way, buried in the second half of the story in one sentence is this nugget: "Among those seen as most likely to vote, McCain lead Obama by 54% to 44%"--an advantage of not 4% but 10%.
And third, pro-abortion Sen. Joe Biden's response to Tom Brokaw on Meet the Press Sunday is indicative, I believe, of just how flummoxed the Obama campaign is by the resurgence of Sen. McCain. There is an old adage--"if you strike the King (or in this case, the Queen), you must kill the King"--that applies perfectly.
The Obama campaign and its allies in the mainstream media and the sleazier blogs assumed that if they hurdled enough muck and injected enough poisonous lies, Palin would be neutralized, if not turned into a drag on the ticket. But that was always risky for the simple reason, as Brown delicately points out, "[T]he public already has grave doubts about the news media." People not only easily intuited the blatantly unfairness, they also took an instant shine to the brilliant, articulate, and folksy governor.
Please take a few minutes to read Part Two, in which I talk about Biden's foray into the historic position of the Catholic Church on abortion. It was so painfully wrong that I felt a twinge of embarrassment on his behalf.
Please send me your comments at daveandrusko@hotmail.com.

Why Obama's Organizer Days Are A Big Joke
Why Obama's Organizer Days Are A Big Joke
By MICHELLE MALKIN | Posted Friday, September 05, 2008 4:30 PM PT
Rudy Giuliani had me in stitches during his red-meat keynote address at the GOP convention. I laughed out loud when Giuliani laughed out loud while noting Barack Obama's deep experience as a "community organizer."
I laughed again when VP nominee and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin cracked: "I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a 'community organizer,' except that you have actual responsibilities."
Team Obama was not amused. (Neither were the snarky left-wingers on cable TV who are now allergic to sarcasm.) They don't get why we snicker when Obama dons his Community Organizer cape.
Apparently, the jibes rendered Obama's advisers sleepless. In a crack-of-dawn e-mail to Obama's followers hours after Giuliani and Palin spoke, campaign manager David Plouffe attempted to gin up faux outrage (and, more importantly, donations) by claiming grave offense on the part of community organizers everywhere. Fumed Plouffe:
"Both Rudy Giuliani and Sarah Palin specifically mocked Barack's experience as a community organizer on the South Side of Chicago more than two decades ago, where he worked with people who had lost jobs and been left behind when the local steel plants closed. Let's clarify something for them right now. Community organizing is how ordinary people respond to out-of-touch politicians and their failed policies."
Let me clarify something. Nobody is mocking community organizers in church basements and community centers across the country working to improve their neighbors' lives. What deserves ridicule is the notion that Obama's brief stint as a South Side rabble-rouser for tax-subsidized, partisan nonprofits qualifies as executive experience you can believe in.
What deserves derision is "community organizing" that relies on a community of homeless people and ex-cons to organize for the purpose of registering dead people to vote, shaking down corporations and using the race card as a bludgeon.
Obama's community organizing days involved training grievance-mongers from the far-left ACORN (Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now). The ACORN mob is infamous for its bully tactics (which they dub "direct actions"); Obama supporters have recounted his role in organizing an ambush on a government planning meeting about a landfill project opposed by Chicago's minority lobbies.
With benefactors like Obama in office, ACORN has milked nearly four decades of government subsidies to prop up chapters that promote the welfare state and undermine the free market, as well as some that have been implicated in perpetuating illegal immigration and voter fraud.
The group continues to garner scrutiny from law enforcement.
Last week, Milwaukee's top election official announced plans to seek criminal investigations of 37 ACORN employees accused of offering gifts to sign up voters (including prepaid gas cards and restaurant cards) or falsifying driver's license numbers, Social Security numbers or other information on voter registration cards.
Last month, a New Mexico TV station reported on the child rapists, drug offenders and forgery convicts on ACORN's payroll. In July, Pennsylvania investigators asked the public for help in locating a fugitive named Luis R. Torres-Serrano, who is accused "of submitting more than 100 fraudulent voter registration forms he collected on behalf of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now to county election officials." Also in July, a massive, nearly $1 million embezzlement scheme by top ACORN officials was exposed.
ACORN's political arm endorsed Obama in February and has ramped up efforts to register voters across the country. Meantime, completely ignored by the mainstream commentariat and clean-election crusaders, the Obama campaign admitted failing to report $800,000 in campaign payments to ACORN. They were disguised as payments to a front group called "Citizen Services Inc." for "advance work."
Jim Terry, an official from the Consumer Rights League, a watchdog group that monitors ACORN, noted: "ACORN has a long and sordid history of employing convoluted Enron-style accounting to illegally use taxpayer funds for their own political gain.
"Now it looks like ACORN is using the same type of convoluted accounting scheme for Obama's political gain." With a wave of his magic wand, Obama amended his Federal Election Commission forms to change the "advance work" to "get-out-the-vote" work.
Now, don't you dare challenge his commitment to following tax and election laws. And don't you even think of entertaining the possibility that The One exploited a nonprofit supposedly focused on helping low-income people for political gain. He was just "organizing" his "community." Guffaw.

Barack Obama — Magna Cum Saudi?
By INVESTOR'S BUSINESS DAILY | Posted Friday, September 05, 2008 4:20 PM PT
Election '08: Does Barack Obama owe his meteoric rise to an Israeli-hating adviser to a Saudi billionaire? Why did a race-baiting mentor to the Black Panthers favor this yet unknown community organizer?
In her stunning national political debut as the Republican candidate for vice president, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin described Obama as a man who had written two memoirs but no significant laws or reforms. So how did this unaccomplished community organizer rise to fame and fortune? He had some interesting help.
We know he's a Harvard graduate and was editor of the Harvard Law Review. Less known is the story of how he got into the prestigious Ivy League university. As Newsmax's Kenneth Timmerman reports, he was helped by a letter written by Percy Sutton, former Manhattan borough president and a credible candidate for mayor of New York in 1977.
In an interview earlier this year on New York's all-news cable channel NY1, the 88-year-old Sutton made some interesting revelations about his relationship with the young Obama. He told NY1 reporter Dominic Carter on "Inside City Hall" that he was introduced to Obama by a friend raising money for him. The friend asked Sutton to write a letter in support of Obama's application to Harvard law school.
"The friend's name is Dr. Khalid al-Mansour, from Texas," Sutton said. "He is the principal adviser to one of the world's richest men. He told me about Obama."
Sutton recalled that al-Mansour said, "There is a young man that has applied to Harvard. I know that you have a few friends up there because you used to go up there to speak. Would you please write a letter in support of him?" Sutton did.
According to Timmerman, "At the time Percy Sutton, a former lawyer for Malcolm X and a former business partner of al-Mansour, says he (al-Mansour) was raising money for Obama's graduate school education (and) al-Mansour was representing top members of the Saudi Royal family seeking to do business and exert influence in the United States."
One of those Saudi royals was Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, a nephew of Saudi King Abdullah. He was the Saudi prince who offered to donate $10 million to help New York rebuild after the terrorist attacks of 9/11. After the prince publicly suggested (as Obama's pastor, Jeremiah Wright, did recently) that U.S. policies brought on the attacks, then-Mayor Rudy Giuliani told Prince Alwaleed where he could deposit his check.
Dr. Khalid Abdullah Tariq al-Mansour, born Donald Warden, is another interesting fellow from Obama's past. He himself is a graduate of Harvard and has been a guest lecturer there. His writings and statements reveal him to be an ideological clone of the Rev. Wright, who married Barack and Michelle and baptized their children.
In his 1995 book, "The Lost Books of Africa Rediscovered," al-Monsour alleged that America was plotting genocide against black Americans. The first "genocide against the black man began 300 years ago," he said at a book-signing in Harlem, while a second "genocide" was on the way "to remove 15 million black people, considered disposable, of no relevance, value or benefit to the American society."
Al-Mansour told an audience in South Africa that "the Palestinians are treated like savages," something our worst ex-president, Jimmy Carter, as well as Wright might agree with. He has accused Israeli Jews of "stealing the land the same way the Christians stole the land from the Indians in America."
When he was known as Donald Warden, according to the Social Activism Project at the University of California at Berkeley, al-Monsour was the mentor of Black Panther Party founder Huey Newton and his associate, Bobby Seale.
California Congresswoman Barbara Lee entered an official statement of appreciation of Warden and his Black Panther colleagues for their role in founding a radical group known as the African-American Association into the Congressional Record of April 23, 2007.
What did this radical extremist see in young Barack Obama that he would seek to sponsor and perhaps finance Obama's education? Obama says he paid his way solely through student loans. How did they meet? Where did the money he raised come from? Now that we know who the father of Bristol Palin's baby is, maybe the mainstream media will have time to find out.

Woman At Work
Woman At Work

GOP: That sound you heard Wednesday night was the political glass ceiling being shattered by a working mom. We could be looking at the first female vice president of the United States — and first grandmother.
It was fitting for Gov. Sarah Palin to introduce herself to the nation while her family — including new son Trig and her future son-in-law — watched from the stands. For Palin, "family values" is more than a political slogan; it's a way of life. For her critics, though, it's been fodder for tabloid character assassination and questions no man would be subjected to.
She should be a feminist heroine. For decades it's been a feminist mantra that women can have it all, just like men. Now they have a real heroine who walks the walk, one who did not ride her husband's coattails into power like Hillary Clinton.
Perhaps that's why feminist emeritus Gloria Steinem, in a Los Angeles Times op-ed, said: "Palin shares nothing but a chromosome with Clinton." According to Steinem, Sarah is someone who has just "one month to learn to compete with Sen. Joe Biden's 37 years' experience."
Au contraire, Ms. Steinem. It is Joe Biden who has one month to learn to compete with the genuine accomplishments of this self-described pit bull with lipstick.
The strong woman who defeated a sitting Republican governor in the primary and a two-term former Democratic governor in the general election described herself as "just your average hockey mom." Not many hockey moms can handle an automatic rifle, run a state and bake cookies, too.
In an effective reference to Barack Obama's thin resume containing no similar executive experience and a poke at those who criticize hers, she said: "I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a community organizer, except that you have actual responsibilities." And no fake Greek columns to bloviate in front of.
Sarah Palin is the governor of a state that borders the Russian bear. She has shown she knows how to turn a bear into a rug right quick. She runs a government of 24,000 employees, oversees 14 statewide Cabinet agencies and manages a $10 billion budget. Obama claims he is qualified to be president because he's running a campaign for president. Oh.
Her husband is a steelworker on Alaska's North Slope. She has actually been there. She actually has seen a caribou. As governor of an energy-rich state that supplies 20% of America's power, she knows more about energy and its effect on people's lives and her nation's security than any community organizer would.
She spoke intelligently and expertly of America's need for energy security. This governor knows of "Russia wanting to control a vital pipeline in the Caucasus, and to divide and intimidate our European allies by using energy as a weapon."
She is aware that Iran might "seek to cut off nearly a fifth of world energy supplies . . . or that terrorists might strike again at the Abqaiq facility in Saudi Arabia . . . or that Venezuela might shut off its oil deliveries."
This "gal who knows the North Slope of Alaska" has the right answer. With a background chant of "drill, baby, drill," she proclaimed: "We need American energy resources, brought to you by American ingenuity, and produced by American workers." Not tire gauges made in China.
For five days, Sarah Palin was dissed as a backwoods bumpkin. In her stunning acceptance speech Wednesday, she soared Reagan-like over the heads of the elites and into the consciences — and perhaps the hearts — of Americans everywhere. This pioneering Alaskan may just be the one to lead her party out of the wilderness.

Palin Finalized 20-Year Quest for Pipeline Deal in First 20 Months
Palin Finalized 20-Year Quest for Pipeline Deal in First 20 Months
Monday, September 08, 2008
By Josiah Ryan, Staff Writer
Stockpiling pipe (Photo courtesy of TransCanada Communications)(CNSNews.com) – In her first 20 months as governor of Alaska, Sarah Palin completed a deal for a natural gas pipeline that had been a top economic goal for the state for nearly two decades.
After battling oil companies and leading lawmakers over the project, Palin signed the bill on Aug. 27, 2008. The deal grants a Canadian company $500 million in state funds and permission to build a $36 billion pipeline to transport natural gas from Alaska's North Slope to the continental United States.
The pipeline, to which Palin referred in her acceptance speech at the Republican National Convention on Wednesday, represents a step towards leading America to energy independence, she said.
“When that deal was struck, we began a nearly $40 billion natural gas pipeline to help lead America to energy independence,” said Palin during her speech. “That pipeline, when the last section is laid and its valves are opened, will lead America one step farther away from dependence on dangerous foreign powers that do not have our interests at heart.”
GOP presidential candidate John McCain and vice presidential candidate Sarah PalinThe 1,715 miles of pipeline will begin in oil- and gas-rich fields on Alaska’s Northern Arctic Ocean and Chukchi Sea coast and continue south through Fairbanks, Alaska, ending at a hub in Alberta, Canada, where gas will be then distributed throughout North America by export pipelines and transport trucks.
A contract for the pipeline, which had been discussed for the last 20 years, was finally negotiated after Palin became Alaska’s governor in 2007.
Palin, who ran against then-incumbent Gov. Frank Murkowski in 2006 pledging to open up bidding for the pipeline in a competitive and transparent manner, rejected negotiations that Murkowski had conducted with oil companies.
Murkowski had offered the major firms exclusive contracts to build the pipeline and had agreed to freeze oil taxes for 30 years and natural gas taxes for up to 45 years.
Palin beat Murkowski in the 2006 primary and took office in January 2007. By February 2007, she had released new requirements for pipeline bidding.
Maintenance duties at a compressor station (Photo courtesy of TransCanada Communications)TransCanada, a Calgary-based independent shipper of natural gas, won the bidding, but BP, ConocoPhillips, and ExxonMobil declined to submit plans by Palin's deadline: Nov. 30, 2007.
“Integration of the pipeline with TransCanada’s Alberta System will provide access to diverse, lower 48 markets across the U.S.,” states the TransCanada Web site.
In April 2007, BP and ConocoPhillips announced they had formed a partnership called “Denali” to build their own gas pipeline.
“This project is vital for North American energy consumers and for the future of the Alaska oil and gas industry. It will allow us to keep our North Slope fields in production for another 50 years," Tony Hayward, BP Group chief executive, said on April 8, 2008 – one year after the initial announcement.
According to a TransCanada press release, planning for construction of the pipeline will likely take two more years, leading to a “regulatory review and permitting” phase, a construction phase, and then commissioning of the pipeline by late 2018.
In early August, Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama endorsed Palin’s bill, about one month before she was chosen to be the GOP vice presidential nominee.
“We should work with the Canadian government to finally build the Alaska Natural Gas Pipeline, delivering clean natural gas, and creating good jobs in the process,” Obama said Aug. 4 in Lansing, Mich.
In an interview with Time magazine in August, Palin named energy policy as one of the causes she will champion if she becomes the nation’s next vice president.
“I would push for a strong military and a sound energy policy,” said Palin. “I believe that Alaska can help set an example on energy policy.”

Michelle's Boot Camps For Radicals

Election '08: Democrats' reintroduction of militant Michelle Obama in Denver was supposed to show her softer side. But it only highlighted a radical part of her resume: Public Allies.
Barack Obama was a founding member of the board of Public Allies in 1992, resigning before his wife became executive director of the Chicago chapter of Public Allies in 1993. Obama plans to use the nonprofit group, which he features on his campaign Web site, as the model for a national service corps. He calls his Orwellian program, "Universal Voluntary Public Service."
Big Brother had nothing on the Obamas. They plan to herd American youth into government-funded reeducation camps where they'll be brainwashed into thinking America is a racist, oppressive place in need of "social change."
The pitch Public Allies makes on its Web site doesn't seem all that radical. It promises to place young adults (18-30) in paid one-year "community leadership" positions with nonprofit or government agencies. They'll also be required to attend weekly training workshops and three retreats.
In exchange, they'll get a monthly stipend of up to $1,800, plus paid health and child care. They also get a post-service education award of $4,725 that can be used to pay off past student loans or fund future education.
But its real mission is to radicalize American youth and use them to bring about "social change" through threats, pressure, tension and confrontation — the tactics used by the father of community organizing, Saul "The Red" Alinsky.
"Our alumni are more than twice as likely as 18-34 year olds to . . . engage in protest activities," Public Allies boasts in a document found with its tax filings. It has already deployed an army of 2,200 community organizers like Obama to agitate for "justice" and "equality" in his hometown of Chicago and other U.S. cities, including Cincinnati, Los Angeles, Milwaukee, New York, Phoenix, Pittsburgh and Washington. "I get to practice being an activist," and get paid for it, gushed Cincinnati recruit Amy Vincent.
Public Allies promotes "diversity and inclusion," a program paper says. More than 70% of its recruits are "people of color." When they're not protesting, they're staffing AIDS clinics, handing out condoms, bailing criminals out of jail and helping illegal aliens and the homeless obtain food stamps and other welfare.
Public Allies brags that more than 80% of graduates have continued working in nonprofit or government jobs. It's training the "next generation of nonprofit leaders" — future "social entrepreneurs."
The Obamas discourage work in the private sector. "Don't go into corporate America," Michelle has exhorted youth. "Work for the community. Be social workers." Shun the "money culture," Barack added. "Individual salvation depends on collective salvation."
"If you commit to serving your community," he pledged in his Denver acceptance speech, "we will make sure you can afford a college education." So, go through government to go to college, and then go back into government.
Many of today's youth find the pitch attractive. "I may spend the rest of my life trying to create social movement," said Brian Coovert of the Cincinnati chapter. "There is always going to be work to do. Until we have a perfect country, I'll have a job."
Not all the recruits appreciate the PC indoctrination. "It was too touchy-feely," said Nelly Nieblas, 29, of the 2005 Los Angeles class. "It's a lot of talk about race, a lot of talk about sexism, a lot of talk about homophobia, talk about -isms and phobias."
One of those -isms is "heterosexism," which a Public Allies training seminar in Chicago describes as a negative byproduct of "capitalism, white supremacy, patriarchy and male-dominated privilege."
The government now funds about half of Public Allies' expenses through Clinton's AmeriCorps. Obama wants to fully fund it and expand it into a national program that some see costing $500 billion. "We've got to have a civilian national security force that's just as powerful, just as strong, just as well-funded" as the military, he said.
The gall of it: The Obamas want to create a boot camp for radicals who hate the military — and stick American taxpayers with the bill.

Michelle's Boot Camps For Radicals

Surge 'Suceeded Beyond Our Wildest Dreams,' Obama Now Says
Friday, September 05, 2008
By Susan Jones, Senior Editor
Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama prepares to board his plane in Harrisburg, Pa., Friday, Sept. 5, 2008, as he heads to another campaign stop. (AP Photo/Chris Carlson)(CNSNews.com) - The troop surge in Iraq has “succeeded beyond our wildest dreams,” Sen. Barack Obama conceded in an interview with Bill O'Reilly that aired on the Fox News Channel Thursday night.
Obama not only opposed the Iraq war from the beginning, he also opposed the troop surge and predicted it would not work. Sen. John McCain, the Republican presidential candidate, was a strong supporter of the troop surge.
On Thursday, O’Reilly urged Obama to admit he was wrong about the surge.
“I think that the surge has succeeded in ways that nobody anticipated -- by the way, including President Bush and the other supporters. It has gone very well,” Obama conceded. But, he added, it still hasn’t been a total success.
“We have reduced the violence, but the Iraqis still haven’t taken responsibility, and we still don’t have the kind of political reconciliation -- we are still spending $10-$12 billion dollars a month,” Obama said.
Obama has said that as president, he would draw down U.S. troops in Iraq and send two additional combat brigades to Afghanistan, which should have been the focus of the war on terror all along, he insists.
Obama’s Web site says that “immediately upon taking office,” Obama will order an end to the Iraq war. “The removal of our troops will be responsible and phased, directed by military commanders on the ground and done in consultation with the Iraqi government,” his Web site says. He envisions having most U.S. troops out of Iraq by the summer of 2010.
Obama has said he would leave a “residual force” in Iraq for counter-terrorism missions and to protect U.S. diplomatic and civilian personnel. He says he would not build permanent bases in Iraq, but he would continue training Iraqi security forces -- “as long as Iraqi leaders move toward political reconciliation and away from sectarianism.”
‘We have to go after them’
In his interview with “The O’Reilly Factor,” Obama listed America’s enemies in the war on terror as Al Qaeda, the Taliban, and a “whole host of networks that are bent on attacking America who have a distorted ideology, who have perverted the faith of Islam -- and so we have to go after them,” he said.
He described Iran as a serious threat, and he repeated his earlier statements that it is unacceptable for Iran to possess nuclear weapons. That would be a “game-changer,” Obama told O’Reilly. He said he would “never take the military option off the table.”
Asked if he would prepare a military option, just in case, Obama said it would not be “appropriate” for a candidate to tip his hand on plans involving Iran.
“It is sufficient to say I would not take the military option off the table and that I will never hesitate to use our military force in order to protect the homeland and the United States interests,” Obama said. He indicated that diplomacy also would come into play.
Pakistan
“You’re not going to invade Pakistan, Senator, if you’re president -- you’re not going to send ground troops in there, and you know it,” O’Reilly challenged Obama.
Obama said he would put more pressure on the Pakistanis -- attaching more strings to U.S. military aid, for example.
“We’re going to provide them with additional military support targeted at terrorists, and we’re going to help build their democracy…”

I have 2 points to make. If you listened to the broadcast Obama did admit the surge has worked, but that Iraq is not over and remains a multi billion dollar burden on a hurting America. ($341.4 million per day). Secondly, McCain's net worth is $40,000,000. At 42, ever the Maverick, John McCain left his first wife and "traded up" to the younger and much richer Cindy. Now that's "earned income".

They are ALL losers. Not one in the running is sane, honest, intelligent or ethical enough to lead this country up and out of the downward spirial in which we whirl.

I have 2 points to make. Point one, Obama is not a man he is a politician. He is afraid to admit when he is wrong and he was very wrong on the surge. Point two, Obama and his wife are rich. They have more than 4 million dollars in tax free bonds. His wife makes 275k a year and he makes about 150k a year. And Obama has 2 books in print from which he gets royalties. Yet he goes around telling the rest of us he feels our pain. Somehow, I find that hard to believe.

What some people will do for votes.
"Can we drill your brains?"
"Can we drill your brains?"
That was Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi's haughty and sophomoric response to a group of American citizens exhorting her to "Drill Here and Drill Now" at a recent press event!
Just in case you were still wondering whether Pelosi really intends to allow a vote on domestic drilling, look no further than the following report from Politico.com:
"House Democratic leaders and protesters waving McCain signs had a war of words Tuesday at a press event outside an old train station. The demonstrators interrupted House Speaker Nancy Pelosi with chants of 'Drill here! Drill now!'
"Pelosi paused and asked the group, 'Right here?' Seeming to enjoy the back and forth, she followed with another question: 'Can we drill your brains?'
"... Arguing that increased offshore drilling would only reduce gas prices two cents in 10 years, she referred to the demonstrators as the 'two-cents-in-ten-years-crowd.'
”Majority Leader Steny H. Hoyer swiped at the demonstrators, too, saying that 'sophomoric chanting' won’t solve the energy crisis and that 'all thinking Americans know' -- stressing the word 'thinking' and looking at the crowd -- that America doesn’t have a quarter of the word’s fossil fuels yet uses a quarter of the world’s energy.”
But what "thinking Americans" really know is that the facts firmly contradict Pelosi's ludicrous statements. Events of the past several weeks prove the sheer bullheaded idiocy behind her contentions.
Indeed, when President Bush challenged Congress to lift the congressional moratorium on domestic drilling, oil prices immediately went into free fall and prices at the pump followed suit.
In fact, oil prices have fallen more than 25 percent -- from over $145 per barrel to under $110 per barrel after Labor Day -- based in part on mere TALK about increasing domestic drilling.
And the price of gasoline at the pump has gone down significantly too. If Pelosi was actually interested in the truth, she would have referred to her "hecklers" as the "twenty-five-dollars-per-barrel- in-two-month-crowd."
Make no mistake, Pelosi and her liberal cohorts in Congress are feeling the heat!
Now it's time to really force the issue!
Use the hyperlink below to send your urgent and personalized Blast Fax Messages to President George W. Bush, Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and each and every Member of the Republican Leadership of the United States Senate and the United States House of Representatives. Tell them that stalls and fake promises will not work! Let it be known that if Nancy Pelosi is really serious about lifting the moratorium on drilling she can prove it RIGHT HERE and RIGHT NOW by calling Congress back into session TODAY and holding an up-or-down vote.
And furthermore, let it be known that the American people DO NOT want so-called "compromise legislation" that will do nothing to reduce prices at the pump and reduce our nations reliance on foreign oil. That tactic didn't work with amnesty last year and it's NOT going to work now. Come back to Washington and vote on lifting the moratorium on domestic drilling ... PERIOD... END OF SENTENCE! DO IT NOW!

Obama May Bring Criminal Charges Against Bush
Obama May Bring Criminal Charges Against Bush

Democratic vice presidential nominee Joe Biden said he and presidential hopeful Barack Obama could bring criminal charges against the Bush administration if they are elected in November.
“If there has been a basis upon which you can pursue someone for a criminal violation, they will be pursued,” Biden said during a campaign stop in Florida on Monday, ABC News reported.
“Not out of vengeance, not out of retribution. Out of the need to preserve the notion that no one, no attorney general, no president — no one is above the law.”
Biden promised that an Obama-Biden government would go through Bush administration data with "a fine-toothed comb" and pursue criminal charges if necessary.
Democrats in Congress have issued subpoenas this year to senior Bush administration aides as part of an investigation into the authorization of torture tactics at the detention center in Guantanamo Bay.
And Obama vowed in April that if elected, he would ask his attorney general to investigate Bush administration actions to see if “genuine crimes” have been committed.
He told the Philadelphia Daily News: “If crimes have been committed, they should be investigated.”

Sarah Palin Emerges As New Ronald Reagan
Sarah Palin Emerges As New Ronald Reagan

By: Michael Reagan
I’ve been trying to convince my fellow conservatives that they have been wasting their time in a fruitless quest for a new Ronald Reagan to emerge and lead our party and our nation. I insisted that we’d never see his like again because he was one of a kind.
I was wrong!
Wednesday night I watched the Republican National Convention on television and there, before my very eyes, I saw my dad reborn; only this time he's a she.
And what a she!
In one blockbuster of a speech, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin resurrected my dad’s indomitable spirit and sent it soaring above the convention center, shooting shock waves through the cynical media’s assigned spaces and electrifying the huge audience with the kind of inspiring rhetoric we haven’t heard since my dad left the scene.
This was Ronald Reagan at his best — the same Ronald Reagan who made the address known now solely as “The Speech,” which during the Goldwater campaign set the tone and the agenda for the rebirth of the traditional conservative movement that later sent him to the White House for eight years and revived the moribund GOP.
Last night was an extraordinary event. Widely seen beforehand as a make-or-break effort — either an opportunity for Sarah Palin to show that she was the happy warrior that John McCain assured us she was, or a disaster that would dash McCain’s presidential hopes and send her back to Alaska, sadder but wiser.
Obviously unintimidated by either the savage onslaught to which the left-leaning media had subjected her, or the incredible challenge she faced, and oozing with confidence, she strode defiantly to the podium and proved she was everything and even more than John McCain told us.
Much has been made of the fact that she is a woman. What we saw last night, however, was something much more than a just a woman accomplishing something no Republican woman has ever achieved. What we saw was a red-blooded American with that rare, God-given ability to rally her dispirited fellow Republicans and take up the daunting task of leading them, and all her fellow Americans, on a pilgrimage to that shining city on the hill my father envisioned as our nation’s real destination.
In a few words she managed to rip the mask from the faces of her Democratic rivals and reveal them for what they are — a pair of old-fashioned liberals making promises that cannot be kept without bankrupting the nation and reducing most Americans to the status of mendicants begging for their daily bread at the feet of an all-powerful government.
Most important, by comparing her own stunning record of achievement with his, she exposed Barack Obama for the sham that he is, a man without any solid accomplishments beyond conspicuous self-aggrandizement.
Like Ronald Reagan, Sarah Palin is one of us. She knows how most of us live because that’s the way she lives. She shares our homespun values and our beliefs, and she glories in her status as a small-town woman who put her shoulder to the wheel and made life better for her neighbors.
Her astonishing rise up from the grass roots, her total lack of self-importance, and her ordinary American values and modest lifestyle reveal her to be the kind of hard-working, optimistic, ordinary American who made this country the greatest, most powerful nation on the face of the earth.
As hard as you might try, you won’t find that kind of plain-spoken, down-to-earth, self-reliant American in the upper ranks of the liberal-infested, elitist Democratic Party, or in the Obama campaign.
Sarah Palin didn’t go to Harvard, or fiddle around in urban neighborhood leftist activism while engaging in opportunism within the ranks of one of the nation’s most corrupt political machines, never challenging it and going along to get along, like Barack Obama.
Instead she took on the corrupt establishment in Alaska and beat it, rising to the governorship while bringing reforms to every level of government she served in on her way up the ladder.
Welcome back, Dad, even if you’re wearing a dress and bearing children this time around.

Will Sarah Palin’s Energy Wisdom Be Contagious?
Will Sarah Palin’s Energy Wisdom Be Contagious?
Alaska Governor May Bring Much-Needed Sobriety to White House Race
Whether you’re a Republican or Democrat, the current election season has already seen its share of foolish, superficial and counterproductive policy positions from both sides.
Nowhere is this more true than with regard to the critical matter of energy policy. After all, despite burdensome fuel prices and ever-increasing dependence upon foreign oil, both major candidates continue to oppose domestic drilling in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge (ANWR), they both bow to the false prophets of human-caused climate change and they both favor destructive carbon cap-and-trade legislation.
Now, along comes Alaska Governor Sarah Palin. And with her, the welcome opportunity to bring some much-needed sobriety to this campaign season.
The question now is whether the candidates, the chattering pundits and the voting public will follow her wisdom.
On the issue of domestic energy exploration and ANWR, Governor Palin is particularly well-positioned because of her Alaskan roots. Environmental extremists desperately attempt to characterize ANWR as some sort of pristine, scenic, spectacular nature preserve brimming with fragile animal populations and delicate beauty. People who have actually visited ANWR, however, know first-hand that it is a remote, barren, icy moonscape that is covered in darkness during winter and mosquito-infested swamps during summer. Furthermore, ANWR itself is the size of South Carolina, but only an area the size of Dulles International Airport would be drilled.
Governor Palin is one such person, which explains why she actively supports energy exploration and drilling there. As she stated so well in her speech before the Republican National Convention this week:
“When a hurricane strikes in the Gulf of Mexico, this country should not be so dependent on imported oil that we’re forced to draw from our Strategic Petroleum Reserve. And families cannot throw more and more of their paychecks on gas and heating oil. With Russia wanting to control a vital pipeline in the Caucasus, and to divide and intimidate our European allies by using energy as a weapon, we cannot leave ourselves at the mercy of foreign suppliers. To confront the threat that Iran might seek to cut off nearly a fifth of the world’s energy supplies, or that terrorists might strike again at the Abqaiq facility in Saudi Arabia, or that Venezuela might shut off its oil discoveries and deliveries of that source, Americans, we need to produce more of our own oil and gas.
“And take it from a gal who knows the North Slope of Alaska – we’ve got lots of both. Our opponents say again and again that drilling will not solve all of America’s energy problems, as if we didn’t know that already. But the fact that drilling won’t solve every problem is no excuse to do nothing at all.”
She is absolutely correct. Domestic drilling promises a secure, plentiful, reliable source of energy that will not only relieve burdened families, but reduce our dependence upon foreign oil as well. Senator McCain has learned from other past misjudgments on such things as tax cuts and the Second Amendment, and altered his position accordingly. Hopefully, naming Palin as his running mate will bring him around on this matter as well.
On the larger issue of climate alarmism, Governor Palin has also shown welcome leadership in the face of political correctness. This past May, the federal Interior Department foolishly listed the polar bear as “threatened,” despite the fact that its population has increased during the past forty years. According to a study by the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN), scientists estimated that between 5,000 and 19,000 polar bears existed during the 1950s and 1960s. By 2005, according to the study, that population had increased to 20,000 to 25,000.
Ignoring this population increase, the Interior Department succumbed to environmental alarmists and bizarrely listed polar bears as “endangered.” The Department rationalized this decision by speculating that alleged polar ice melts might someday lead to a population reduction, illustrating a classic case of putting the proverbial cart before the horse.
Opposing the Interior Department’s designation, Governor Palin demonstrated responsible leadership even though it was politically unfashionable. Mere days after becoming Governor, Palin contacted Interior Secretary Dirk Kempthorne and expressed her opposition to the Department’s atrocious decision.
Then, even before Senator John McCain chose her as his running mate, Governor Palin sued the federal government to challenge Interior’s decision. As an avid outdoorswoman, she obviously sympathizes with efforts to protect polar bears. Demonstrating her wisdom, however, she also maintains that we must favor grounded science over trendy climate alarmism.
In this way, Governor Palin already brings a refreshing change to a political arena saturated with environmental foolishness. The question now is whether Senator McCain or Senator Obama wake up and smell the coffee on energy policy.

HOW THE SARAH PALIN PICK TRUMPS OBAMA-BIDEN
SPECIAL THANKS BILL FOR THE HEADS UP
HOW THE SARAH PALIN PICK TRUMPS OBAMA-BIDEN

On August 29, 2008, Republican Presidential nominee, John McCain, announced Sarah Palin, Governor of Alaska as his VP running mate. That selection has trumped and checkmated the Obama-Biden ticket.
Coming the day after Obama's historic acceptance speech at the Democratic convention, which speech and Obama's earlier pick of Joe Biden as his own VP running mate, were expected to be the top news item leading into the Republican convention the following week, McCain's pick of Sarah Palin however completely eclipsed those events.
In less than 24 hours, Obama's day in the sun had been come under a cloud of shadow and was relegated to history being completely upstaged by the Palin choice. The news cycles have talked about nothing else since in terms of the presidential politics.
The choice by McCain has stunningly energized the conservative base of the Republican party, an important segment McCain had his own problems with. But by choosing Palin, a staunch conservative, he has revitalized his commitment and perception in that area. Many conservatives who had relegated themselves to simply voting against Obama, are now more than willing to for "for" Palin.
The choice also reached out directly to independents and disaffected Democratic voters, particularly women, who were so sorely disappointed by Hillary Clinton's narrow loss and the way they had been treated since Obama sealed the nomination. Particularly in overlooking Hillary Clinton, who won 18 million votes in the primaries, and actually had more votes than Obama, those disaffected women are also excited about Palin, and indicating by the tens of thousands on blogs and disaffected Hillary voter sites on the web that they intend to cross over and vote for her and McCain.
The Obama campaign and DNC, curiously, have already launched all out attacks against the choice and Palin herself, indicating that she does not have enough executive or national experience.
Excuse me? She does not have enough executive experience?
A simple analysis of the relative experience levels of Sarah Palin compared to either Democratic candidate puts this to rest. For over the past decade, Sarah Palin has been involved in executive decision making at increasing levels of elected positions of public trust. Obama has no executive experience, Biden has no executive experience. During that time, Palin left off running an actual private business in Alaska , a commercial fishing business and was elected to her city council and then, in quick order to be Mayor of her home town. She did so well there that she was ultimately elected to be Governor of the State of Alaska , managing 17,000 personnel and a 9 billion dollar budget. Obama and Biden have absolutely no comparable experience at all, neither of them.

In Alaska , as Governor, Sarah is also the Commander in Chief (CINC) for the Alaskan National Guard. This is a critical national assignment as Alaska sits on the border with Russia where Air National Guard aircraft intercept Russian Bear aircraft. Sarah Palin has taken her role as the Commander seriously, regularly visiting the units and coming to understand their duties and capabilities.

Governor Sarah Palin, an avid shooter herself, learns the operation of equipment of guard units (She's manning the gun).
As Governor, Sarah has helped devise and push through a project for the largest natural gas line in the history of the US ...taking on entrenched politicians (on both sides of the aisle), lobby groups, and large corporations in the process. Her involvement with, and her understanding of, the Energy issue is unmatched by either Democratic candidate.

Outside of her direct role as Governor and speaking more to her personal values and commitment to them, Sarah walks the walk on the pro-life issue. Having found out well in advance of delivery that her youngest child would have downs syndrome, she and her husband thanked God for the blessing and brought the baby into a loving home. (By contrast, Obama has stated publically that he doesn't want his children "punished" with a baby).

As Governor, Palin actually visited the wounded soldiers in Germany , while Obama, when given the same opportunity in Europe , refused to comply with Defense Department guidelines regarding his entourage, and skipped that part of his schedule.

Beyond all of this, there is also a part of Sarah Palin that most hard working, patriotic, and committed Americans are coming to adore about her. She is real. She is authentic. Not only has she stood up to corrupt politics and the old networks 1that have produced so much waste, fraud, and "bridges to nowhere", she is also a regular person, and authentic all-American girl, wife, mother, and citizen.
She has actually walked the walk of reform and change instead of just talking about it.
She does not come from privilege, did not aspire to it, or become placed in it. She did not attend the Ivy League or prestigious schools. She has gotten to where she is by pure honesty, integrity, and strength of charachter and has been raising five kids and enjoying life while doing so.
Sarah Palin loves to Four-wheel and fly with her family in Alaska .

Sarah Palin loves to fish in Alaska .

Sarah Palin loves to hunt in Alaska .

and, oh, did I mention? Sarah Palin loves to shoot.
All of this drives the leftist and anti-American crowd mad. Sarah Palin is the real deal. Young, refreshing, committed wife, mother, American citizen. She is the real deal when it comes to the change that is so much needed in American politics, particularly in Washington . John McCain must be congratulated for vetting her, seeing this, and putting her on the national stage.
She represents in fact, and in her own actions, what so many others (including Obama and the entrenched Biden) only talk about, and then go on with business as usual.
Obama, in his own actions and positions as a State Senator (voted merely present so many time in the State Senate, but voted no defending the Born Alive Abortion Protection Act there), in his own actions and positions as a US Senator (spent only 144 days on the job before beginning his campaign for the President, but in those short days was recognized as the Senator with the furthest left record), and particularly in his own willful associations of long standing with hateful, racists individuals like Jeremiah Wright (who preached "Not God bless American, No, No, No, God Damn America!) to Obama and his children, and with the likes of Bill Ayers, the unrepentant, arrogant, and militantly anti-American political connection where Obama kicked off his own political career, who bomber the US Pentagon, the US Capitol, and NY City Polic Headquarters and then claimed in an interview published on 911 that his only regreet was that he had not done enough...no with such actions and such associations (npot to mention TOni Rezco, Pleger, and others), Obama has proven that his change is precisely the type we do not want or need in Washington.

At this time in America, two men are campaigning for the Presidency of the United States.

It is a time of war, a war against Islamic Jiahd, who hate America and want to destroy her. In dealing with this very real and imminent threat, both men had the opportunity earlier in their lives to travel abroad:

As a result of that travel and their experiences during it, one heard the call to serve America, the other heard the call to, by his own admission, "change" America.
As a result, in the ensuing years, one sought to befriend other American patriots in government in order to serve his country, while the other has entered government service through befriending radical domestic terrorists and hateful preachers who championed his "change" during those years.

More recently, one, because of his prior experience in the military, and his visits with the troops and their commanders in harm's way, has championed a surge that has dramatically improved our military stance in one theater of the war, Iraq, the other man, who would not so much as salute the flag during the national anthem, or wear an American flag on his lapel, calling it "false patriotism", seeks to immediately withdraw and retreat from that same theater in this war.

Now, both want to be president. My only question regarding this choice is simple...ARE WE OUT OF OUR MINDS!
NOBAMA MOVEMENT SPREADS ACROSS THE NATION
Barack Hussein Obama is the most liberal, left-leaning, & has more direct anti-American associations than any candidate ever nominated for president by a major US political party. His ardent followers, caught up in the rock-star media blitz his campagn is engineered to evoke, are not interested in reason, logic, or facts. But serious minded Americans, who hold dear the foundational principles & moral values this nation rests upon are. We must bring the Audacity of Truth regarding Obama to their attention. They will then act, communicate, & vote accordingly. Of this I have great faith & to this, this site is dedicated. Please use the links above to educate & inform. - Jeff Head, June 2008.
